New government will deliver corruption free, drug free and violence free Manipur: CM N Biren Singh

Biren also said the new government will strive to fulfill the aspirations of the people of the state and take Manipur to greater heights.

N Biren Singh, after being sworn in as chief minister of Manipur for the second term on Monday, asserted that it is the resolve of his new government to deliver a corruption free, drug free and violence free Manipur.

"... It is the resolve of our new Govt. to deliver a corruption free, drug free and violence free Manipur. We will always be grateful for your guidance all throughout," Biren said in reply to a tweet by BJP national general secretary (Org) BL Santhosh

Congralating Biren, Santhosh said in a Twitter post: "Congratulations Sri@NBirenSingh on being sworn in as the CM of Manipur for second term. Your resolve of building Corruption free , Drug free & Violence free Manipur will take the state on the path of development.@BJP4Manipur," BJP national general secretary (Org) BL Santhosh posted on Twitter.

Biren also said the new government will strive to fulfill the aspirations of the people of the state and take Manipur to greater heights, as several party leaders, including Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, greeted him and congratulated him on being sworn in as the state chief minister for the second term.

“Congratulations to Shri @NBirenSinghji on taking oath as the Chief Minister of Manipur. Under the guidance of PM Shri @narendramodi he will continue to work diligently for the development and bright future of Manipur. Wishing him a successful tenure ahead,” Rajnath posted on Twitter.

Biren assured that he and his team will give their best to serve the people of Manipur, as he replied to a tweet by Union Road, Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari.

"I’m thankful to Hon’ble Union Minister Shri@nitin_gadkari Ji for your warm wishes. I along with my team look forward to give our best to serve the people of Manipur under the guidance of Hon’ble PM Shri@narendramodi Ji and our senior party leaders," Biren tweeted.

Nitin Gadkari had tweeted: "Heartiest congratulations to Shri@NBirenSingh ji on being elected as the Chief minister of Manipur for the second time. Under the guidance of PM Shri@narendramodi ji and leadership Shri N Biren Singh ji, I am sure that Manipur will progress and prosper".

Also in response to the congratulatory wishes showered upon him by other party leaders, Biren said he will give his best to continue the developmental works which the previous government led by him has been taking up over the last five years.

"Thank you Shri @sambitswaraj Ji for your warm wishes. Along with my team, I’ll give my best to continue the developmental works which we have been taking up over the last five years," Biren tweeted in reply to the wishes by BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra.

Sambit Patra had said in a post on Twitter: "Congratulations and Best Wishes to Shri @NBirenSingh Ji on taking oath as a Chief Minister of Manipur. I am sure the BJP Govt in Manipur with the guidance of PM Shri @narendramodi Ji, Sh @AmitShah Ji & Sh @JPNadda Ji will continue to work for peace and development of Manipur."

Union minister Smriti Irani also joined the other leaders in congratulating Biren and tweeted: "Congratulations to@NBirenSingh ji on taking oath as the Chief Minister of Manipur for a second consecutive term. My best wishes to you as you continue to take Manipur to greater heights under the guidance of PM@narendramodi Ji.

Others who wished Biren included Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga.

"Heartiest congratulations to Shri@NBirenSingh Ji on taking oath as the Chief Minister of Manipur today. Manipur is fortunate to have you as CM for the second term as the State witnessed phenomenal growth under your strong leadership. My best wishes for your successful tenure," Khandu tweeted.

Zoramthanga also posted on Twitter: "Sincere congratulations to Shri@NBirenSingh Ji on being sworn in as Chief Minister of Manipur. Best wishes to him as he perform his duties for the people of his state."

Biren was sworn in as chief minister for the second straight term on Monday along with five other minister designates - Thongam Biswajit Singh, Yumnam Khemchand Singh, Konthoujam Govindas Singh, Nemcha Kipgen and Awangbow Newmai.
