The newly elected members of the executive council and federal assembly of the Chandel Naga People’s Organisation (CNPO) for the tenure 2024-2027 took oath and were installed on Monday at Chandonpokpi Community Hall in Chandel district.
The installation was administered by Rev Hranum Khiang, General Secretary, Ch BCA while the oath taking was administered by K Yaima Maring, Convenor, Search Committee, CNPO.
The newly elected Executive Council members are D Thamdok (Lamkang Tribe) as president; X Kothang (Maring Tribe) as vice-president; Sh Kalenchung (Monsang Tribe) as general secretary; Ps Kingson (Anal Tribe) as assistant general secretary; Kh Lungkim (Chothe Tribe) as finance secretary; LR Meran (Maring Tribe) as information & publicity secretary; Sk Sunny (Lamkang Tribe) as social & culture secretary and Sr Angtun (Anal Tribe) as forest & environment secretary.
As for the Federal Assembly, Mosyel Syelsaangthel Khaling was elected as the Speaker while Mac Donald Moyon was elected as the deputy speaker.
A notification from the Search Committee stated that after having proper consultations and elaborate discussions, the following persons are duly nominated as the office bearers of the Chandel Naga People’s Organisation (CNPO) for the tenure 2024-2027 in the various positions.
