In response to the severe flooding in Manipur, the 12th Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has rescued over 1500 individuals under the guidance of the NDRF DG and the close supervision of Commandant Virendra Kumar Verma.
Three teams, led by deputy commandants Ahanthem Boboi Singh and Anand Kumar Patel, have been deployed across various flood-affected areas to conduct search and rescue operations.
These teams have been instrumental in reaching vulnerable locations and ensuring the safety of those stranded by the floodwaters.
In addition to their rescue efforts, the NDRF teams are assisting the state administration and local clubs in distributing relief materials to the affected populations.
The NDRF, in a release, expressed that it remains committed to providing all possible support and standing in solidarity with the people of Manipur during this challenging time.
Meanwhile, the Indian Army evacuated 75 stranded persons, including women and children, from Dewlahland of Imphal East district on Monday.
The flood relief columns, acting promptly and professionally, ensured the safe relocation of these people to safer places, stated a release. Army remains vigilant and ready to provide continued support to the flood-affected regions, it said.
