​​​​​​​NCW chairperson Rekha Sharma to visit Ukhrul on July 4

The NCW chairperson is scheduled to hold interaction programme with Ukhrul CSOs, NGOs and district-level officers.

National Commission for Women (NCW) chairperson Rekha Sharma is scheduled to visit Ukhrul on July 4 and will have an interaction programme with Ukhrul civil society organisations, NGOs and district level officers.

This was stated by Chunglenmang, deputy commissioner of Ukhrul in-charge in a notification. The interaction programme will be held at DRDA training hall, Mini Secretariat Ukhrul on 4 July at 11:30 am.

The notification came following the issuance of NCW letter on June 30, 2022 in regard to the official visit of Rekha Sharma, chairperson of NCW to state capital Imphal and Ukhrul headquarters.

It further notified all the district-level officers, including women civil society organisations and NGOs in Ukhrul district, to attend the interaction programme.

It may be mentioned that Rekha Sharma, chairperson, National Commission for Women (NCW) has been declared as "State Guest" vide Secretariat, General Administration Department (welfare section) order No Welf - 504/3/2020 GAD - GAD dated 30 June, 2022.

The rank of chairperson NCW is equivalent to the rank of secretary to the Government of India.
