The Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL) has been awarded the 1st place for Innovation with Impact Award during the 17th India Energy Summit held at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
The MD of MSPDCL H Shantikumar received the award on behalf of MSPDCL. The award has been given in recognition of the various innovative actions taken up by MSPDCL for digitisation of discom activities. Prepaid meters and system automation were the main focus.
The summit had been organised by the Indian Chamber of commerce under the aegis of the Ministry of power Government Of India. The summit was held from November 2 and concluded on November 3.
Power secretary Pankaj Aggarwal attended as the chief guest while former Power secretary Anil Rajdan was the chief jury of the summit.
During the ceremony, Shantikumar highlighted the difficulties faced by MSPDCL due to the internet ban which posed serious drawbacks in the prepaid meter recharging and affected revenue returns.
The activities of Manipur in spite of the odd circumstances of law and order were given due recognition by the juries.
