MSPDCL instructs all officers to remain alert in stations

The Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL) has instructed all officers of the company to remain alert and station at their respective stations offices, while Manipur State Power Company Limited (MSPCL) is undergoing restoration work of 33 kV affected lines.

In an order on Tuesday, MSPDCL managing director H Shantikumar Singh informed that in view of the prevailing weather condition in the state and incessant rain which is expected to continue for a couple of days, all the officers of the company are instructed to remain alert in their respective stations.

“In case of any eventualities occurring due to the current inclement weather condition, immediate measures should be taken by coordinating with the concerned officers and officials within their jurisdiction,” the order stated.

The division and subdivisional officers have been advised to take up all the appropriate precautions to ensure safety while carrying out the above measures, it added.

The report on the action taken in case of such eventualities should be submitted to the concerned general manager, Corporate Office, MSPDCL at the earliest as this may be treated as important and urgent, the order added.

Meanwhile, in another press note issued, deputy manager of transmission division-II, Transmission Sub-division-VII, MSPCL, Lungran Kamei said that all the 33 kv transmission, Yurembam-Noney line from 132/33KV substation could not be restored due to multiple numbers of disc and pin type insulator punctured at different locations.

It was caused by recent heavy storm and lightning.

It said that section-wise charging for 22KV Yurembam-Noney transmission line has begun. During this section wise charging, the punctured insulators have been replaced and it will continue till the exact fault location is resolved, the order said.

The process will take time to rectify the whole length, it said, adding that during the period of rectification work, power supply to the consumers of the 33/11 Kv Noney sub-station will be affected.
