Minister of State for Education, Annapurna Devi, visited Ukhrul district and interacted with the public and the district administration at the Mini Secretariat on Thursday.
At the event, the locals expressed their appreciation and grievances to the minister. The minister also interacted with the people at the DRDA training hall where she presented various schemes to the beneficiaries under various departments.
At the occasion, Ukhrul DC Krishna Kumar welcomed the dignitaries followed by PowerPoint presentations by various departments including ZEO, ADC, ICDS, district social welfare, health department, PHED, agriculture, DIC, forest department, horticulture and soil conservation etc.
The Zonal Education Office (ZEO), introduced various schemes for students which include distribution of free school uniforms and textbooks and providing financial assistance in the form of stipend to children with special needs etc.
After the interaction, the team led by minister Annapurna Devi also visited the Ava market (Ima/women), Ukhrul higher secondary school, Self Help Groups (SHGs) under VDVK and the district hospital.
The event was also attended by SP Ukhrul Ningthemcha Vashum, Ukhrul DFO Shangam Shaliwo, and CEO David Kashungnao and other government officials.
