More Myanmarese held in Moreh

A team of special commando, Manipur Police apprehended six Myanmar nationals from Moreh Town in the last 24 hours.

A team of special commando, Manipur Police apprehended six Myanmar nationals from Moreh Town in the last 24 hours.

Two of them were apprehended on Saturday and they were identified as Min Thai ,45, of Namphalong Ward No 12, Myanmar and WeWei Fio Ao ,23, of Namphalong Ward No. 12, Myanmar. Police sources said they were caught from near the Eastern Ground, Moreh.

Meanwhile, a special commando team apprehended four Myanmar nationals near the Rish Hotel, Moreh on Friday. They have been identified as Thangsonlen Guite, 33, of Lalim, Myanmar; Khamlenkap Guite, 28, of Lalim, Myanmar; Thon Thon, 28, of Namphalong, Myanmar and Mei Yuk, 49, of Namphalong, Myanmar.

The apprehended persons were later handed over to Moreh police station for further necessary legal action.

It may be recalled that a team of special commando, Manipur Police had earlier apprehended three Myanmar nationals while conducting foot patrolling in and around the Moreh town.

They were apprehended under the suspicion of looting abandoned houses in the border town that had been left vacant due to the present crisis.

They were identified as one Khamkhenthang Guite, 25, son of Paochinlen Guite of Namphalong Sawbua II, Myanmar; Aung Mae, 30, son of Mae Aao of Tamu Sawbua X, Myanmar; Aung Aung, 25, son of Uoo Mao Mao of Tamu Sawbua XI, Myanmar.

The trio was suspected of stealing furniture items, electric generators from the abandoned houses which were partially burnt down in connection with the present crisis, as per police.
