The Tamenglong Battalion of Assam Rifles conducted a Mobile Outreach Medical camp in more than 10 villages across the entire Vangai ridge from Sunday to Tuesday in Tousem Sub division in Tamenglong district of Manipur.
The villages across Vangai ridge fall in an highly remote area and are devoid of the most basic medical facilities, stated a statement.
The camp was conducted to address the health issues of the locals residing in the area. More than 450 people were benefited from the camp which entailed general health checkups and medical examination by medical staff of Assam Rifles, it stated. Medicines were also distributed and administered as per requirement of the patients.
The medical camp was a successful initiative and provided medicare accessibility to the locals residing around the Vangai ridge. This initiative by Assam Rifles was widely appreciated and the locals lauded the efforts of Assam Rifles for their thoughtful gesture, it added.
