An enraged mob dismantled the house of one individual who is believed to be a ‘grocery items supplier to Kukis’ on Wednesday evening.
The individual has been identified as 36-year-old Naorem Kemar, son (L) Ingocha of Tekcham Laibung Leikai under Khongjom Police Station in Thoubal district. He opens a grocery shop in his locality.
Sources said that on Tuesday at around 3 pm, village volunteers and Meira Paibis of Langathel village near Khongjom in Thoubal district arrested Kemar at Langathel when he was reportedly on his way to his home after allegedly supplying grocery items to some Kukis of Tengnoupal district.
Later, the villagers of Langathel handed over accused Kemar to Khongjom Police Station.
The incident came to light on Wednesday evening and subsequently a large mob stormed Kemar’s house, built of wood, and completely dismantled it at around 5.30 pm.
