‘MLA forcibly took NFSA rice from FCI depot’

An allegation has been made against the MLA of Kshetrigao, claiming that he, accompanied by a large number of his supporters, forcefully entered the FCI Depot at Sawombung and took NFSA rice.

An allegation has been made against the MLA of Kshetrigao, claiming that he, accompanied by a large number of his supporters, forcefully entered the FCI Depot at Sawombung and took NFSA rice.

The group allegedly overpowered the official representative of Kshetrigao AC and seized nine loaded trucks of National Food Security Act (NFSA) rice.

In this regard, a complaint was filed by the district supply officer of CAF and PD, H Bupendra to the Lamlai police station.

The complaint revealed that the seized rice amounted to a staggering 1327.40 quintals.

The incident, as described in the complaint, was carried out through unlawful means, with the MLA and his supporters storming the depot and coercing the depot’s official representative.

Expressing grave concern over the incident, the complaint urged the Lamlai police station to take immediate action by registering a FIR.

Copies of the complaint have been forwarded to the PS to CAF and PD Minister, DC Imphal East, Director of CAF and PD, and SP Imphal East for their attention and necessary action.

In a related development, another complaint concerning the same incident was also lodged with the Lamlai police station by Soibam Premkumar, proprietor of M/S PK Agency.
