The 35 Assam Rifles, Somsai Battalion Ukhrul felicitated Mister Friendship International 2nd runner-up Songashim Rungsung on Saturday in Ukhrul.
Rungsung, who represented India, bagged the prestigious Mister Friendship International 2nd runner up in a glittering event held at Khon Kaen City in Thailand on December 18, 2022.
Songashim also won the “Mister Best Personality” special award in the world pageantry award.
The 25-year old Rungsung hail from Talui village in Manipur’s west of Ukhrul district.
It may be mentioned that Somsai battalion Assam Rifles (AR) under the aegis of IGAR(S) had extended assistance to Rubaru Mr India 2020-21, Songashim Rungsung on October 22, 2022.
The support extended by the AR enabled the young talent to groom and participate in the international pageant scheduled in the month of December 2022 at Khon Kaen, Thailand.
In his speech, Rungsung extended his heartfelt gratitude to AR Somsai battalion for its support. “The noble gesture has ensured in building a long lasting relationship with the youth community,” he maintained.
