Two Manipuri girls, namely Solan Jajo and Solimla Jajo have been selected in senior Women Model Physique in different categories for Miss Asia and Miss World 2022.
The trial for the selection was held in Himachal Pradesh on May 25. With these selections, the duo would represent India in the upcoming senior women model physique Miss Asia and World Miss to be held in Maldives on July 16 to 21, 2022, and Miss World 2022 to be held either in Singapore and Indonesia.
In the meantime, president Katho Katamnao Long Mashungmi Zingkhai on Monday said that it is a proud moment for Katho Katamnao Long and Tangkhul community as a whole.
“We are indeed delighted and pleased to announce that of the nine athletes from Manipur, only one failed to get a slot in Team India,” he said.
Of the candidates, Solon Jajo of Leishi village from Katho who had finished XII standard from Alice Christian higher secondary school and Solimla Jajo of Kasom Khullen who had cleared XII standard from Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School got selected, he mentioned.
“We wish them the very best in all their future endeavours,” KATHO president added.
