To take stock of the current situation, Churachandpur district hospital was visited by Tribal Affairs and Hills Minister Vungzagin Valte along with MTDC chairman and Singhat MLA Ginsuanhau Zou accompanied by DC, CMO and SDO of the district on Friday.
As part of the visit, a meeting was held at the MS conference hall which was also attended by officials of PHED and MSPDCL.
After the meeting, minister Vungzagin, who is also minister in-charge of Churachandpur and Pherzawl districts, said that it has been decided to form a committee which will be led by the DC, SP and other top officials of the district. The committee shall take the decision on how to function the hospital effectively with no shortages of power and water supply. All the strategies will be tabled and further action will be initiated based on the decision of the committee.
He also said that on any eventuality of shortage of water supply in the hospital, the committee would take help from police, AR and BSF.
The DC said that frequent power cuts are due to the automatic machines, which tend to happen more in the rainy season. Regarding water supply, he said that one new water tanker from PHED will be brought to the hospital soon so that more water can be kept in storage.
In the last 24 hours, Churachandpur reported 42 COVID-19 positive cases with one death. During the random COVID-19 testing of 301 lockdown violators by police, five of them were tested positive.
