Highlighting the importance of Science and Technology in moving a society forward to development, newly inducted Manipur Science and Technology Minister Th Biswajit on Tuesday assured to mend all the loopholes in his department by developing the required infrastructures very soon.
Biswajit was speaking as chief guest during the valedictory function of the four-day observance of the National Mathematics and Science Day 2022 held at Manipur Science and Technology Council (MASTEC) complex at Takyelpat in Imphal West.
The observance of the National Mathematics and Science Day 202 in Imphal was jointly organised by MASTEC and Science Teacher’s Forum Manipur and was supported by the National Council for Science and Technology Communication.
Pointing out that in this age of science and technology, science has been recognised as the driving force behind human progress, Biswajit said, "We must appreciate the struggle of the scientists behind each inventions and discoveries.”
The four-day observance gave a platform to the youngsters to showcase their talents and innovative ideas in the field of science and mathematics, he said.
The minister expressed satisfaction to learn that the science models showcased by the students during the observance have many innovative ideas which can be utilised for the development of the state.
During the observance, 45 students (class XIII to XII) from various schools across the state showcased their science and mathematics models.
Moreover various competitions like spot painting competition, mathematics completion and written quiz competition on science and mathematics were also held during the observance. Prizes were distributed to the winners of various competitions during the valedictory function by the chief guest.
The function was also attended by commissioner of Science and Technology Devesh Deval as president and director of Science and Technology Homila Hongrei as guest of honour.
