Suspected Kuki militants reportedly tried to loot a warehouse where urea/fertilisers were kept at Torbung Bangla but failed as firing took place between them and a combined security forces on intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.
The Kuki militants reportedly came to Torbung Bangla by taking advantage of the night and tried to loot the warehouse located at Torbung Bangla, Bishnupur district.
However, seeing the combined security forces there, the Kuki militants reportedly fired towards them and in retaliation, it is suspected that there might be some injuries among the Kuki militants. The firing is said to have continued for nearly an hour during which a CRPF jawan received minor bullet injury on his feet.
Before leaving the scene, the Kuki militants burnt four/five abandon Meitei houses at Torbung
It is reported that one NV-UAV was detected loitering around Torbung, Phougakchao Ikhai and Kwakta area on Monday night which the villagers tried to shoot down. However, it escaped and flew towards the western hillside. After that gunshots were heard at Torbung area, as per reports.
Meanwhile, at the same time, another firing incident occurred at Khoijumantabi side Mangjil hilltop towards the valley area where BSF personnel are deployed. The firing lasted around half an hour. No casualties were reported though.
