The Meira Paibis halted the AR personnel from entering the area, thereby forcing them to retreat from the area. The women protestors said that state forces are most welcome in the area for safeguarding the people but they are strongly against the deployment of AR personnel in the inspection bungalow.

The protestors also warned of intense agitations if the Assam Rifles try to stay in the area without the consent of the villagers.
