The Meetei Students’ Association, Manipur University has strongly condemned the recent agitation raised against reserve forest policies in various hill districts of the state.
The association, in a release, said that the state government has been taking up initiatives to protect the reserve forest areas to preserve the natural habitat of the state and to balance the ecosystem.
The release further said that today’s generation has failed to preserve our land and forest as wide deforestation has been carried out in the hill district of the state which leads to climate change.
The student association also condemned the wide illegal poppy plantation in some hill districts, which will greatly affect the future of the youths.
The association appealed to the people of the state to extend their support to saving forest areas stating that they will also support the process.
