In an effort to safeguard the integrity and cultural identity of the Meetei-Pangal community, the Meetei- Pangal ST Demand Committee will hold a one-day people's convention on January 22 at ABA Ground in Imphal East.
The convention will be held under the theme, "Future prospects of Meetei-Pangal Community in Manipur" and will be attended by experts and scholars from across the state as resource persons, said convenor of the committee, Islam Makakcha, while announcing the convention on Thursday at Manipur Press Club in Imphal.
Stating that the Meetei-Pangal community are lagging behind in terms of socio-economic and living in fear of breaking its integrity, he called on all the Meetei-Pangal community residing in every nook and corner of the state to participate in the conventions to raise the status of the community.
