The Meetei Council Moreh (MCM) on Thursday condemned the arrest of proscribed UNLF (Pambei) Army Chief Th Thoiba alias Sidabamapu, Intelligent chief Laimayum Engba and a cadre of the outfit by NIA on Wednesday.
MCM publicity secretary S Mithun, in a release, alleged that such an act by NIA is like giving privilege to the Kukis and cheating against the citizens of the state.

UNLF(P) had recently signed a peace agreement with the Government of India and Government of Manipur and joined the mainstream, it stated. It asserted that the arrest of the cadres of the organisation have caused unrest among the people and demanded unconditional release of the arrestees.
