The 73rd Van Mahotsav was widely celebrated in Tamenglong at three locations organised by the Tamenglong forest division with a mass tree planation drive on Friday.
At Tamenglong district headquarters, Van Mahotsav was celebrated at Tamenglong college where divisional forest officer Tamenglong Praveen Kumar Nigam, sub divisional officer Tousem and Tamenglong Paul Nangsha and principal Tamenglong College N Daimei attended as chief guest, guest of honour and president respectively.

Rainforest club members, college faculty and non teaching staff and Tamenglong Forest Division staff took part in the mass tree plantation drive.
At Tamei Water Resources and Relief and Disaster management minister Awangbow Newmai, Tamei Battalion CO and range forest officer Tamei Kh Johnson Singh attended the Van mahotsav celebration.
Van Mahotsav was also celebrated at Oinamlong village with range forest officer Tousem S Khogen Singh while Oinamlong village authority members led the mass tree plantation.
