In order to create public consciousness along with awareness on the importance of environmental protection, Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Ukhrul organized a legal awareness programme titled “Clean Shirui” on Saturday.
The main emphasis of the programme was to clean the waste materials, if any strewn in the Shirui Hills as a part of Earth Day celebration on the theme “Invest in our Planet” and to hand over the waste collection to the proper authorities for disposal.
The programme was inaugurated by Chief Justice PV Sanjay Kumar, High Court of Manipur in the presence of Gaiphulshillu Golmei, registrar general, High Court of Manipur; Athokpam Nungshitombi, Commissioner (Law); Ojesh Mutum, member secretary, MASLSA; Masana Panmei, CJM, Ukhrul cum secretary, DLSA Ukhrul; Alek Muivah, CJM, Imphal West; Shubham Vashist, CPC, High Court of Manipur; PA Phungreishung, JFMC, Ukhrul, PLVs of Ukhrul district and members of Tour de Manipur Riders.
