Manipur's Luangchum village celebrates Cultural Festival 2022

Noney district deputy commissioner Joseph Pauline encouraged the villagers of Luangchum (Awangkhul) to promote their beautiful culture.

The first-ever two-day cultural festival kicked off at Luangchum (Awangkhul) village under Noney district, Manipur on Friday.

The cultural festival was organised by Assumption Catholic Church, Luangchum under the theme, ‘I have not come to abolish the Law or Prophets; but to fulfill them’.

Noney district deputy commissioner Joseph Pauline Kamsuan and assistant professor JNIMS Anthony Lanilung Kamsuan attended the event as chief guest and guest of honour respectively.

On the occasion, Joseph Pauline celebrating such festivals is a great opportunity to promote one’s culture and identity. He encouraged the villagers to promote their beautiful culture.

Highlighting about the present scenario of development in Noney district, he encouraged the public to take the opportunity for the betterment of society. 

Traditional games and sports, cultural dances, folks songs, making of fire, pounding of rice and raising of traditional slogans were the main highlights of the festival.
