The Manipuri community living in Thailand, while extending solidarity to the Meiteis in Manipur, have condemned the activities carried out by narco-terrorist groups seeking to undermine the safety, security and well-being of the society.
A peaceful gathering was held at a hotel in Sukhumvit area in Bangkok on July 28 wherein the community members stressed the need to strengthen legal frameworks and enhance judicial systems to prosecute narco-terrorists effectively in the state, stated a release.
It also expressed deep concern over the escalating violence and turmoil in the state. The conflict has led to significant human rights violations, loss of lives, displacement and economic hardships leaving everyone deeply troubled, it stated in a press release.
It mooted that the state needs a unified association under one umbrella to combat narco-terrorism and for other common goals. It further expressed belief that the power of collective action can combat narco-terrorism and restore peace in the state.
