Security forces carried out massive search operations, area dominations and foot patrolling at different areas of Kangpokpi and Churachandpur district on Thursday.
A joint team of Kangpokpi police and A coy/172 Bn. CRPF conducted area domination and foot patrolling in and around Longjang village and adjoining areas under New Keithelmanbi Police Station from 10 am till 11.40 am in Kangpokpi district.
Meanwhile, a joint team of Kangpokpi police and B coy/152 Bn. CRPF also conducted area domination at G Songlung village and its adjoining areas from 10 am till 11.30 am under G Saparmeina Police Station, Kangpokpi district.
A team of E Coy/09 Bn BSF conducted area domination patrolling in the general area of Heichanglok, lower Khoirentak and upper Khoirentak under Moirang Police Station Churachandpur district from 8.14 am till 11.30am.
Another team of 25 ITBP conducted area domination patrolling at Dongjang and Hengken village area under Sangaikot Police Station, Churachandpur district from 10 am till 11.50 am.
A team of C/50 BSF conducted area domination patrolling in the general area of Chingphei village under Moirang Police Station, Churachandpur district from 9 am till 1 pm.
A joint team of F/199 BSF, 9 AR & A/9 BSF also conducted area domination patrolling in the general area of Island, Kwakta ward no 8, Island, Phousenphai gap, Qutub Wali Masjid, Phouljang Bazaar Gothol under Phougakchao Ikhai Police Station and Churachandpur Police Station in Churachandpur district from 9.40 am till 11.35 am.
A team of F/09 BSF conducted area domination patrolling in the general area of lower Khoirentak, Khoushabung, Bunglow under Moirang Police Station, Churachandpur district from 10 am till 12 pm. Another team of E/4 Coy ITBP conducted area domination patrolling in the general area of Sugnu, M Moiling, M Teijang village under Sangaikot PS, Churachandpur district from 10 am till 11.30 am.
A team of 9 ITBP conducted area domination patrolling at Torbung Bangla and Govindpur Temple area under Churachandpur Police Station, Churachandpur district from 4 am till 6.30 am.
Security tightened in vulnerable locations
The Police Control Room, Manipur Police on Thursday stated that security forces carried out search operations and area domination in the fringe and vulnerable areas of hill and valley districts, and the situation in the state was under control during the last 24 hours.
A release said that movement of 166 and 298 vehicles along NH-37 and NH-02 respectively with essential items have been ensured. Strict security measures are taken up in all vulnerable locations and a security convoy is provided in sensitive stretches in order to ensure free and safe movement of the vehicles.
A total of 135 Nakas/Checkpoints were installed in different Districts of Manipur, both in the hill and the valley and Police detained 344 persons in connection with violations in different districts of the state, it added.
Appeal is made to the general public not t o believe in rumours and be aware of false videos. Any circulation of unfounded videos etc. may be confirmed from the rumour free number-9233522822 of Central Control room. Further, an appeal is made to the public to return the looted arms, ammunition and explosives to the police or nearest security forces immediately.
