Manipur: Watchman assaulted at Lamphel

Unknown miscreants physically assaulted the watchman of Pony Grazing Ground, Lamphel, Imphal West on Sunday night.

In yet another case of unexplained incidents, unknown miscreants physically assaulted the watchman of Pony Grazing Ground, Lamphel, Imphal West on Sunday night.

The entire incident unfolded at the grazing ground around 7 pm when six-seven unknown miscreants barged into the ground uninformed and started assaulting Anil Rai (30), son of (Late) Jagnath Rai.

The miscreants brutally assaulted Anil using sticks and trouser belts. As a result, Anil sustained injuries on his back, belly and left leg.

After the event, Lamphel Police swiftly rushed to the spot after which he was rushed to RIMS for immediate medical attention.

According to Anil, unknown miscreants had previously warned him to vacate the premises two-three times before the unfortunate incident.

He recalled that the unknown individuals also came on Saturday and made similar threats.

Anil is married and has a daughter with whom he stays at the watchman’s quarter of the grazing ground. Lamphel police has lodged an FIR regarding the matter.
