Manipur: Wangjing River running on danger level

Most rivers coursing across the valley are running on danger level on Tuesday as a result of continuous downpour of rains in Manipur due to the cyclonic storm Remal.

Most rivers coursing across the valley are running on danger level on Tuesday as a result of continuous downpour of rains in Manipur due to the cyclonic storm Remal.

Wangjing River in Thoubal is also running on danger level while the water level of the river has already breached at Tentha Khunjao area and is about to overflow the embankments at several points.

The locals are reinforcing the embankments at Tentha khunou, Tentha Khongbal areas as the water level has increased at alarming levels. The river is likely to overflow if the rainfall continues for the night.

A local has urged the authorities to inspect the situation at Tentha and take measures to stop any calamities.
