United People’s Revolution Front of Manipur (UPRFM) on Thursday stated that celebration of the Independence Day of India will be banned in the state, and declared a 12 hours total shutdown of the state on August 15.
A release issued by UPRFM information and publicity secretary L Rolin Meitei alleged the Indian Government for being biased and racially motivated towards the state.
It recalled the contentious incidents caused by the “black laws” which were implemented by the Indian government, such as AFSPA, NSA, and CAA.
It accused the Indian government for being hypocritical in claiming to be the largest democratic country. “The Indian government is deviating from true democracy towards the Hindutva doctrine, with its ‘One Nation, One Culture, One Language’ ideology,” it added.
