Kuldiep Singh said that as the state is returning to normalcy, people have begun to help and rescue each other. Two persons were rescued by the Young Paite Association and another two by the Kuki Student Organisation in Churachandpur and handed over to security forces for safe passage to their families, while another was rescued by Imphal police and villagers, he said.

Kuldiep also said that when it started, people chased, arrested and took each other away, adding that those missing seven persons are not found yet.

There are certain incidents that are happening continuously and that the same are being monitored, he said.

Curfew relaxation is also being extended in various districts while there is no curfew in some districts like Kamjong, Noney, Ukhrul, he said, adding that it shows that normalcy is returning.

The security advisor also informed that evacuation of stranded individuals is continuing and that on May 18, CAPF and Assam Rifles shifted 1173 stranded people from Kangpokpi to Churachandpur and 454 from Churachandpur to Kangpokpi, 54 per cent from Keithelmanbi to Kangpokpi.
