Manipur Unrest: Police rescue villager, issue helpline

The Manipur Police has issued helpline telephone numbers - 03852450214, 7085368633, 6009039422, 9485280419, and 9485280461 in an effort to help the public from crimes by miscreants.

The police appealed to the public to contact the above mentioned telephone numbers, stating that it had rescued a villager from miscreants on May 15 with the help of Awang Sekmai Khunou public and villagers.

The public of Awang Sekmai Khunou informed the police that three villagers from Khonkhu village near Leimakhong were chased by miscreants near Makhan village.

The police team led by Sekmai OC and two CDO teams rushed to the spot but two of the three had fled and taken shelter at Makhan village chief’s house.

The other person was rescued from the miscreants, stated the press statement of SP, Imphal West.
