Manipur Unrest: More forces arrive

Additional troops were brought to Imphal airport in special Indian Air Force plane on Saturday.

In the wake of fresh escalation of violence, additional troops of central paramilitary forces started arriving in Imphal on Saturday.

According to sources, at least 10 companies of CAPF drawn from BSF, ITBP and CRPF are expected in the latest reinforcement. The additional troops were brought to Imphal airport in special Indian Air Force (IAF) plane.

It may be mentioned that there are already over 40,000 troops of Army and paramilitary forces on the ground ever since the breakout of ethnic clashes in the state in May.
