Manipur Unrest: Leikhampoki village attacked

Kanglatombi Gram Panchayat, Leikampokpi village and Namdilong village authority asserted that no lawless or violent act will be allowed or accepted in and around the village.

In yet another gun attack incident, unknown armed miscreants allegedly open fired at upper Shantipur-Leikhampoki village in Imphal West on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.

The incident occurred around 1.10 am, stated a joint release signed by the pradhan of Kanglatombi Gram Panchayat, Leikampokpi village chief, Makhen village chairman and president/secretary of Namdilong youth club on Tuesday.

It condemned the attack amid the prevailing situation, stating that it was an alleged attempt to make the village a battleground for violence of the ongoing ethnic conflict.
