A team of combined security forces swiftly responded to bring the situation under control after gunshots were heard from the general area of Moulloih village under Churachandpur Police Station of Churachandpur district around 4.45 pm on Tuesday.
As per sources, the combined team including F/199 BSF and 9 AR in coordination with 16 Kumaon rushed to the area after eight rounds of gunshots were heard.
About four-five rounds of gunshots were also heard from the general area of Sempajang village of Churachandpur district on Monday. Later at about 11.40 pm, another nine-10 rounds of gunshots were heard from the adjoining valley side (near Ngangkhalawai village).
Some armed miscreants were seen in the foothill area of Kamong Village, Bishnupur district under Nambol Police Station on Monday at around 6.30 pm. GR deployed in the area fired luminating bombs (Para Bomb) to ascertain the armed miscreants. The armed miscreants fired some rounds and the security forces retaliated too. Exchange of fire ceased at about 7.15pm. OC Nambol and other teams have rushed to the spot. Details awaited.
A combined team of Churachandpur District Police, 36 AR, 124 CRPF, 25 ITBP, 33 BSF and 10 ITBP conducted Area Domination Patrolling at Lailophai, Napat, Sehiphai, Dongjang, L Khonomphai, Hengken and M Phaimoul area on Monday from 9.30am till 4.30pm. No arrest and seizure/recovery were made.
A combined team Bishnupur District Police, 5 Sikh and E-234 CRPF conducted a search operation at Sengpangjar Village under Moirang Police Station, Bishnupur district from 11am till 1 pm on Tuesday. During the operation around 25 males and 15 females were verified. No arrest and recovery was made.
