Curfew in Imphal East and Imphal West have been relaxed from 5 am to 10 pm for Sunday (October 22), to facilitate the general public in procurement of essential items, including food and medicines.
Latest notifications issued by the respective district magistrates on Saturday stated the relaxation has been made in view of the development of law and order in the districts.
The statement further said that the relaxation will, however, not apply to any gatherings/large-scale movement of persons/sit-in-protests/rallies etc. which is unlawful in nature without obtaining permission from the competent authority, it said.
It further mentioned that movement of persons belonging to essential services such as health, electricity, PHED, petrol pumps, schools/colleges, municipality, press and electronic media, functioning of courts, to and fro movement of flight passengers to the airport and contractor/worker with valid Airport Entry Permit (AEP) card will be exempted from further imposition of curfew.
