Manipur Unrest: Body of fourth missing person found

Kumbi police have deposited the body at RIMS morgue on Saturday evening.

The body of the fourth person who had been missing since Wednesday, where bodies of three companions were found at Haotak Phailen Hill range, has also been found on Saturday from the same hill range, about 200 metres above the spot where the earlier bodies were recovered.

The body has been identified as Ahanthem Dara Meitei, 49, son of late A Apichao of Wangoo Sabal Awang Leikai, Bishnupur district.

The four people, namely Oinam Romen Meitei, 45 son of Oinam Pishak Meitei of Akasoi ward no VII; Ahanthem Dara Meitei, 56, son of late A Apikchao Meitei of Wangoo Sabal Awang Leikai; Thoudam Ibomcha Meitei, 53, son of late Th Pangoi Meitei of Akasoi ward no VII and Thoudam Anand Meitei, 27 son of Th Ibomcha Meitei of Akasoi Ward no VII, have been missing at Haotak Phailen hill range since Wednesday.

In a combined search operation of state and central forces, three bodies besides Dara were recovered on Thursday and were been deposited at RIMS morgue.

Police reported that the villagers of Haotak reported around 12.30 pm to Kumbi police station that they found a body at the same hill range but around 200 metres above the spot where the three bodies were recovered earlier.

It is reported that bullet injuries were found on the back side of left thigh and another on the right temple of the body of Dara.
