Police control room in a release stated that the arrested cadre is Leishangthem Naobi alias Yogen Meitei, 31, of Langel Game Village Punshi Leikai from Khuman Pali road. From his possession, two mobile phones, Rs 73,100 in cash and a car without registration number were recovered. A case has been registered and investigation is ongoing, it stated.

It stated that search operations and area domination were conducted by security forces in the fringe and vulnerable areas of hill and valley districts. During the last 24 hours, the situation in the state was tense with sporadic incidents of firing but under control, it stated.

Movement of 221 vehicles along NH-2 with essential items have been ensured. Strict security measures are taken up in all vulnerable locations and a security convoy is provided in sensitive stretches in order to ensure free and safe movement of the vehicles, it mentioned.

A total of 142 Nakas/Checkpoints were installed in different Districts of Manipur, both in the hill and the valley and Police detained 254 persons in connection with violations in different districts of the state, it said.
