Two persons belonging to Muslim from Sangaiyumpham, Thoubal District were shot on their leg by armed miscreants at Wangoi Narankonjin, Imphal West.

According to police, it was reported by SP/IW on Wednesday that the information of the incident was received at about 1.15 pm.
A police team rushed to the spot and the injured persons were taken to a hospital.
The injured persons were later identified as Md Akram (30), son of Md Muheiuddin of Sangaiyumpham under TBL PS and Dist and Md Sakir (35), son of Md Najir Khan of Sangaiyumpham.

They have been admitted to the JNIMS with bullet injury on the legs.
Further, it is reported that the two persons were involved in extortion of money in the name of an UG group.
