Manipur: Training for polling personnel held in Kamjong, Pherzawl

During the training, the Master Trainers focused on effective handling of EVM and VVPAT machines, conduct of Mock Poll, duties of Presiding Officers and Polling Officers.

As a part of election preparedness for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections-2024, a training programme of polling personnel in respect of Kamjong district was held on Monday at the Kamjong Election Hall (NIELIT Hall) located inside the Mini Secretariat, Ukhrul.

The polling personnel being trained are to perform their election duties at various polling stations of 43-Phungyar (ST) AC, the lone AC which falls within the district.

During the training, SDO, Phungyar Rang David Kung, MCS, who was the trainer, trained the polling personnel on various election related activities such as operation of EVM Machines, sealing of EVM Machines, duties of Presiding Officers and Polling Officers, Do’s and Don’ts of election process, etc.

A ‘Hands on Training’ on EVM was also held during the training session. It is worth mentioning that for the lone Phungyar AC in the district, a total of 392 polling personnel (including reserves) are being assigned for election duty of which 80 are female polling personnel.

Meanwhile, the first round of training for presiding officers and polling officers drafted for poll duty in Pherzawl district for the upcoming Lok Sabha election was successfully conducted at Churachandpur Government College on Monday.

The training also included demonstration on setting up of polling stations, voting compartments for voting and maintenance of diaries/records among others.District Election Officer of Pherzawl Asish Das, accompanied by various district election officials shared a few words of encouragement to the trainees while inspecting the training session.
