MSAD, in its memorandum, expressed grief over the sufferings caused by the unfolding violence which broke out in Manipur on May 3, stating that it has claimed over 75 lives so far and displaced around 40,000 people.

It lamented over the alleged failure of the Central Government to take concerted measures to protect the lives and properties of the innocent people of both Kuki and Meitei communities even as the violence continued to take its toll for almost a month.

The association claimed that the clash is manufactured and used by several motivated factors under the watch of the Central security forces, as a political means to achieve their narrow political goals and to balkanize Manipur with exclusive political dominion.

It further urged the people not to fall into the trap of these divisive forces and appealed to them to unite and fight against communal propaganda aiming to challenge the unity and integrity of Manipur.
