In an effort to address the specific needs of relief camps across Thanga AC, MLA Tongbram Robindro on Sunday distributed gas stoves and cylinders to 16 relief camps across the assembly constituency.
The items were sponsored by Chakhum gi Meiri, unfolded at Moirang Khunou in Bishnupur district.
Chakhum gi Meiri, which is a collaborative initiative by members of Chakhum and Manipur Times, sought to ensure that the flame of Chakhum (kitchen) burns bright in relief camps, offering cleanliness and economic efficiency.
The distribution was specified to meet the unique requirements of each relief camp, taking into account the number of inmates.
Some camps received three gas stoves and cylinders each, while others received in accordance with their specific needs, were provided with one set.
This thoughtful approach ensures that the resources are allocated based on the actual requirements, catering to the diverse circumstances of the affected communities, as per the Chakhum gi Meira.
Expressing gratitude towards the Chakhum gi Meiri team, MLA Robindro emphasised the significance of this personalised distribution strategy, stating, “The distribution is not just about providing assistance, it’s about understanding and meeting the specific needs of each relief camp. Chakhum gi Meiri’s support is instrumental in making this possible, ensuring that relief reaches where it is needed the most.”
He appealed for peace in the state, recognising the importance of unity and harmony and urged the people of Manipur to come together.
“Peace is the foundation for progress and prosperity in our society,” he added.
