Manipur: Storm injures one, destroys houses in Churachandpur

One person was injured and two residential houses at New Mission Veng, Churachandpur district in Manipur were destroyed during a heavy windstorm which caused havoc in the district around 12.10 am on Tuesday.

According to sources, the windstorm that lasted for around 30 minutes destroyed the residential houses of Suanminthang and Lamminsang. One Lalminsang was injured with a cut by a GI sheet and was rushed to hospital, the sources mentioned. The family survived the storm by hiding under their bed, the sources continued.

Both Suanminthang and Lamminsang were daily wage earners and were living with their wife and four children each, it mentioned. The storm also damaged many residential houses in Churachandpur district, it added.
