Unknown miscreants looted a sum of about Rs 2.5 lakh from a shop selling cement at Irilbung Bazar in Imphal East District on Monday at around 12.4 pm.

The owner of the shop is Ayekpam Inao, 50, son of (L) A Manihar of Langdum Awang Leikai.
He said that the robbery took place when he went to attend a ceremony at his neighbour’s house. Five unknown miscreants who came on white colour Hyundai Avenue robbed the money by breaking the key of the godrej where money was kept. Only one person who helps the shop in shifting goods was there at the shop during the robbery.

The unknown miscreants wore camouflage T-shirts, black pants and covered their faces.
Irilbung Police station has registered a case.
