Shiv Sena Manipur on Monday condemned the double-engine government for their numbing silence on resolving the Manipur conflict and added that the issue would have been handled swiftly if it was a different state.

The party questioned if the authorities were waiting for the conflicting communities to weaponize themselves and wipe out one another.

Speaking to the media at Shiv Sena Manipur office, Imphal, state unit president M Tombi also condemned the failure of the authorities to implement strong security measures along both National Highways of the state.

The party questioned why the double-engine government was struggling to keep the highways safe for the good-ladenned trucks and passenger vehicles.

“Groups under SoO infesting along the highways are starting to defy the authorities by attacking the highways which are vital lifelines of the state,” he said.

He also questioned the validity of SoO agreements and demanded authorities to clarify whether it had been extended or nullified.

Two central force personnel are now dead because of the delay in proper stringent actions, he added.

On the other hand, the party maintained that it would continue support for candidates under the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

He also exuded confidence that the NDA candidates would sweep the elections.
