A combined team of Kangpokpi District police, 32 AR, 22 AR and F 87 CRPF conducted search operations in the surrounding area of Nakhujang village under Kangchup-PS on Wednesday from 6 am till 1.30 pm.
During the search operation, they recovered items including one .303 rifle with mag, two 12 inch single bore barrel guns, one improvised projectile launcher, one improvised mortar, six 36 HE hand grenades, two 2 inch Mortar ill Rds., two Improvised Mortar Rds., one improvised explosive device (3Kgs), four 9mm Ball Live Rds., one 5.56mm INSAS Live Rd., one 7.62mm CTN, 62 7.62mm fired cases, 45 5.56mm fired cases and two 2 inch Mortar Carrying Case.
Meanwhile, a combined team of Bishnupur District Police and 128 Bn. CRPF conducted a cordon and search operation at the general area of Ngachoupokpi village under Bishnupur-PS from 5.30 am to 7 am on Tuesday. During the search operation about 150 houses were searched and about 600 persons were verified but no arrests nor recoveries were made.
A combined team of Kakching District Police along with 136/D BSF conducted a cordon search operation at Tangjeng Khunjao area under Sugnu-PS from 7 am till 8.30 pm. During the operation about 45 houses were searched and 85 persons were verified. No arrests nor recoveries were made either.
A combined team of Thoubal District Police, 3rd IRB and 182/A Bn. BSF also conducted a house to house search operation at Chandrakhong area under Yairipok-PS from 4.30 am till 6.40 am on Tuesday. During the search operation about 121 houses were searched and about 170 persons were verified. No arrest or recovery was made.
A combined team of Thoubal District Police and C/128 CRPF also conducted house to house search operations at Tekcham mamang Leikai area under Khongjom-PS. During the search operation about 28 houses were searched and about 66 persons were verified from 5.30 am till 6.30 am. No arrest or recovery was made.
A combined team of Churachandpur District Police, 9AR and 199/F Bn BSF conducted a search operation at P. Geljang village adjoining areas under Churachandpur PS from 9.30 am till 11 am. During the search operation no arrest or recovery was made.
A combined team of Kangpokpi District Police, Imphal West District Police, 22 AR and 119 CRPF D- coy recovered arms and ammunition during a search operation conducted in the general area of Luwang Sagol, under Sekmai PS on Tuesday at 1 pm.
One 9 mm Uzi Sub Machine Gun along with Magazine, eight live rounds of 9mm, one .32 pistol along with Magazine, two hand grenades, two 80 WP Smoke Grenade and two 27 Detonators were recovered during the search. The recovery items were handed over to Gammom Saparmeina PS.
