A combined team of special CDO units, 5th IRB, Moreh CDO, Thoubal CDO and Kakching CDO, 5th AR and BSF on Monday conducted search operations at T Yangnom and T Hlangbul and surrounding areas of Moreh in Tengnoupal district and some items were also seized.
The combined team conducted house-to-house search during the operation which started from 2 pm and concluded at 5.30 pm.
The seized items are 10 Kg explosive iron pellets, gun powder 50 gm approximate, 6 GI iron pipe two big size and four small size, one bullet proof jacket, two hunting boots, one carry bag, three two wheelers without registration numbers and two pompi bombshell.
Meanwhile, CDO Imphal East recovered arms and ammunition during a search operation conducted at Khundrakpam Mayai Leikai and surrounding areas on Monday.
The operation, which was conducted under the command of Kh. Herojit Singh Addl SP ops Imphal East from 6 am to 7.30 am, searched 70 houses and their occupants. The recovered items were found buried near a crematorium.
The recovered items are one SMG Carbine with three empty magazines, one 36 hand grenades with a ring, one tube launching, 16 INSAS LMG magazines, four INSAS rifle gas cylinder capes, seven 7.62 SLR ammunition charger clip, 63 9mm revolver ammunition, three empty ammunition carrier boxes and six anti-riot shells. The recovered items have been handed over to Heingang PS for further legal formalities.
