Amid the ongoing clash in Manipur, search operations were conducted across various districts on Tuesday by state police along with central forces with few weapons found but no arrests made.
A combined team of Churachandpur District Police, 9AR and 199/F Bn BSF conducted a search operation at P Geljang village adjoining areas under Churachandpur PS on Tuesday from 9.30 am till 11 am. During the search operation no arrest or recovery was made.
Moreover, a combined team of Bishnupur District Police and 128 Bn. CRPF also conducted a cordon and search operation at Ngachoupokpi village general area under Bishnupur PS from 5.30 am till 7 am on Tuesday.
During the search operation about 150 houses were searched and about 600 persons were verified but no arrest nor recovery was made.
In Kakching District too, the district Police and 136/D BSF conducted a cordon search operation at Tangjeng Khunjao area under Sugnu Police station from 7 am till 8.30 am on Tuesday. During the operation about 45 houses were searched, and 85 persons were verified but no arrest nor recovery was made.
A combined team of Thoubal District Police, 3rd IRB and 182/A Bn. BSF conducted a house-to-house search operation at Chandrakhong area under Yairipok PS on Tuesday from 4:30 am till 6:40 am. During the search operation about 121 houses were searched and about 170 persons were verified. No arrest or recovery was made.
A combined team of Thoubal District Police and C-128 CRPF conducted a house-to-house search operation at Tekcham Mamang Leikai area under Khongjom-PS on Tuesday from 5.30 am till 6.30 am. During the search operation about 28 houses were searched and about 66 persons were verified. No arrest or recovery was made.
It was reported on Monday, that from 9.30 am to 12.15 pm, a combined team of Kangpokpi District Police along with 22 AR, 30 AR and C 129 CRPF conducted combing operations in the general area of Haraothel, Kangpokpi district. During the operation, one improvised projectile launcher, one improvised grenade launcher and two improvised projectiles were recovered.
