Manipur: Scrutiny of complaints conducted by RO

Among the contesting candidates, Thounaojam Basanta Kumar Singh from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Angomcha Bimol Akoijam from Indian National Congress (INC) were present at the scrutiny meeting.

The scrutiny of Form 17A and other documents of all polling stations, including Special Polling Stations, of the Assembly segment falling under 1-Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency (1-IMPC) was at Kombirei Hall, DC Office Complex, Imphal West taken on Saturday.

The scrutiny session was chaired by returning officer, 1-IMPC Th Kirankumar
in presence of general observer of the 1-Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency Dhavalkumar K Patel, district election officer, Imphal East Khumanthem Diana Devi, assistant returning officers and other officials.

The meeting started with the scrutiny for the Special Polling Stations of 1-IMPC starting with Imphal East followed by Imphal West, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Kakching, Churachandpur, and Kangpokpi districts.

Later, the scrutiny of all polling stations under 1-IMPC for Imphal East; Imphal West; Bishnupur and Thoubal were taken up. The designated AROs; concerned Polling Officers and other officials for each district were present during the scrutiny process.

Among the contesting candidates, Thounaojam Basanta Kumar Singh from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Angomcha Bimol Akoijam from Indian National Congress (INC) were present, and for the rest of the contesting candidates, their respective election agents attended the scrutiny meeting.
