Manipur: SBI cashier remanded in police custody

Monarch, a cashier of the SBI, Bishnupur branch reportedly ran away on April 2 after stealing a cash of Rs 2 crore from the locker of the same bank.

Monarch Laishram, who allegedly stole cash around Rs 2 crore from SBI, Bishnupur branch, was brought back to Imphal by a team of Bishnupur district police on Tuesday.

Monarch, a cashier of the SBI, Bishnupur branch reportedly ran away on April 2 after stealing a cash of Rs 2 crore from the locker of the same bank. From the inputs of Bishnupur district police, a team of Delhi crime branch apprehended Monarch on April 5 from Patel Chest Christian Colony, opposite Maurice Nagar Police Station, North Delhi.

Monarch Laishram, 41, son of Laishram Chaoba of Kodompokpi Mamang Leikai was brought back to Imphal airport on Tuesday by a team of Bishnupur district police after getting a transit remand from the court concerned.
Monarch, after he reached Imphal airport, was produced in front of duty magistrate, Bishnupur on the same day and remanded in police custody till April 15 for further investigation.
