Manipur ruling MLAs to meet Union Home MInister Amit Shah in New Delhi

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh convened a meeting of all ruling MLAs in Imphal on Wednesday over the unrest situation in Manipur.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Wednesday convened a meeting of all ruling MLAs, including ministers, at the CM Secretariat, Imphal.

According to sources, the meeting deliberated on the latest developments and fresh escalation of violence in various parts of the state and chalked out fresh strategies to contain the communal tension and restore normalcy in the state.

Meanwhile, a team of MLAs which include Th Shyamkumar and Abdul Nasir of JD-U left for New Delhi late Wednesday by AirAsia flight, the sources said.

Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Th Satyabarta and BJP MLA L Rameshore also left by the same flight for Guwahati to seek an audience with the Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the sources said.

Another 10 MLAs, including representatives from the NPF, NPP and BJP were leaving for Guwahati. The delegation included ministers Awangbow Newmai and Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh.
