Manipur on Friday recorded 452 new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state's tally to 1,32,156 while the death toll mounted to 2,037 with one new fatality, according to the latest update by the state health department. The positivity rate is 20.8 per cent.
The single COVID-19 fatality recorded on Friday is from Imphal West. The deceased had co-morbidities and was fully vaccinated, according to a release issued by State COVID-19 Common Control Room.
As per the release, 173 new COVID-19 cases were reported from Imphal West, another 135 cases from Imphal East, 22 from Bishnupur, 29 from Chandel, 16 from Churachandpur, 21 each from Kakching and Thoubal, eight from Senapati, six each from Kangpokpi and Ukhrul, five from Tamenglong, three each from Noney and Tengnoupal and two each from Jiribam and Kamjong.
The state also recorded 407 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,26,315. The recovery rate is 95.58 per cent. Manipur now has 3,804 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.
Meanwhile, a total of 412 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and 91 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.
As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 24,67,527 (first dose: 14,05,834 second dose: 10,39,615 precautionary dose: 22,078).
The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 58.24 per cent and for the second dose is 44.41 per cent, it mentioned.
